The cheapest fare isn’t always the best deal. This Sunday we went looking for the extras that quietly add up to hundreds of dollars: open bars, onboard credit, double loyalty points, and the resident and military rates most people never think to ask about.
Every price below was checked on September 13, 2026, directly on each cruise line’s site (Disney’s rates come via the Disney Cruise Line Blog, which tracks them weekly). Fares change constantly, so confirm before you book.
⭐ Deal of the Day: 9 Caribbean Nights From $601, About $67 a Night

Royal Caribbean lists this sailing from $601 per person. Divide by nine and you get about $67 a night, with a private-island day included. That’s cheaper per night than every shorter Bahamas sailing on the same page.

1. Norwegian: 50% Off, and What “Free at Sea” Actually Includes
Norwegian is advertising 50% off all cruises for a limited time. The bigger perk is Free at Sea, on bookings of two nights or more made since November 5, 2025:
- Unlimited open bar for every guest 21 and over in the cabin, on board and at Great Stirrup Cay.
- Specialty dining: 1 meal on 2 to 4 nights, 2 on 5 to 6 nights, 3 on 7 to 8 nights, and 4 on cruises of 9 nights or more.
- A $50 shore excursion credit at every port, for the first guest on the reservation.
- 150 minutes of Starlink Wi-Fi for each guest in the cabin, and guests 3 and 4 sail free.
Past guests get one extra Latitudes point per night on select cruises, and 0% APR financing over up to 12 months runs for bookings made by November 4, 2026. See Norwegian’s deals →
Watch for: 150 minutes of Wi-Fi goes fast, and Norwegian adds a 20% gratuity to drinks bought à la carte. Ask what service charges apply to your package.
2. Royal Caribbean: Double Points Until September 21, Plus 30% Off Extras
From September 9 to 21, 2026, Crown & Anchor Society members earn 2X points on select sailings through April 30, 2027. Alongside “up to $900 off,” there’s up to 30% off onboard extras and extra savings for residents of qualifying states, seniors 55+, U.S. and Canadian military, and police, fire and EMT crews. - Allure of the Seas, 8 nights, Southern Caribbean & Perfect Day, from Fort Lauderdale, October 17, 2026: from $698 (about $87 a night).
- Icon of the Seas, 7 nights, Western Caribbean & Perfect Day, from Miami, October 31, 2026: from $1,006 (about $144 a night).

3. Celebrity: Double Captain’s Club Points, Taxes Included in the Price
Captain’s Club members earn 2X points on select Caribbean or Celebrity Infinity Europe sailings booked September 8 to 21, 2026, for cruises from October 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027. The sale adds 75% off your second guest’s fare (up to $750) and $100 off all Caribbean sailings, plus resident, senior and military savings on select sailings.
- Celebrity Beyond, 7 nights, St. Maarten, St. Thomas & Puerto Plata, from Fort Lauderdale, November 22, 2026: $1,250 per person, about $179 a night with taxes and fees included. It falls inside the double-points window, but confirm it’s one of the “select” sailings.
4. Princess: Up to $250 Onboard Credit for Military Guests
Princess’s Military Benefit Program gives free onboard spending of $50 on cruises of 6 days or less, $100 on 7 to 13 days, and $250 on 14 days or longer. It covers active personnel, qualifying retirees and honorably discharged veterans. Apply at least 14 days before departure; it’s capped at two military guests per booking and can’t be used in the casino.

5. Carnival: Drink and Wi-Fi Bundles, Only Until September 30
Carnival’s Cruise Value Packages can be bought online through My Cruise Manager until September 30, 2026, for sailings through December 31, 2027:
- Essentials, $50 per person, per day: Cheers! Zero Proof drinks, Value Wi-Fi, a $50 shore excursion discount and a $25 dining discount.
- Ultimate, $90 per person, per day: the full Cheers! drinks package, Premium Wi-Fi, the same discounts, plus 50% off spa and photos.
- Kids & Teens, $25 per person, per day (ages 3 to 17): sodas, Social Wi-Fi and arcade tokens.
Watch for: all adults in a cabin must buy the same package. Packages are fully refundable if cancelled before the cruise, but unused benefits aren’t. See Carnival’s packages →
6. Disney: $250 Military Onboard Credit and Resident Rates
According to the Disney Cruise Line Blog’s September 7 roundup, a $250 onboard credit for U.S. military remains on select Disney Wish and Dream sailings in 2026. Sample rates (per person, per night):
- U.S. military: Disney Dream, 4-night Bahamian from Fort Lauderdale, October 19, 2026: $182.70.
- Florida residents: Disney Destiny, 5-night Bahamian from Fort Lauderdale, November 2, 2026: $231.00.
- Canadian residents: Disney Dream, 3-night Bahamian from Fort Lauderdale, November 20, 2026: $228.00.
Rates are limited to 50 staterooms per category per sailing, and you’ll need proof of eligibility at check-in.
7. Virgin Voyages: 70% Off Your Second Sailor, Plus Military and Pay-in-Full Savings
Virgin’s current offer is 70% off your second sailor plus instant savings on Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Brilliant Lady and Resilient Lady, for voyages from September 1, 2026, to October 28, 2028. On 6 to 9 nights, instant savings run from $50 (Sea View or Insider) to $100 for a Sea Terrace, and up to $500 in suites.
Virgin also lists a Military & First Responder rate and a Northeast Resident rate (each up to 15% more), and an extra 10% for paying in full. Fares include its specialty restaurants, basic drinks, group fitness classes and Wi-Fi (the level depends on fare type). See Virgin Voyages’ deals →
Onboard Credit or a Lower Fare: Which Is Worth More?
Half the offers above hand you perks instead of cash off. Here’s how to compare.
- A dollar off beats a dollar of credit. Onboard credit is only worth face value if you’d spend that money on board anyway.
- Read what the credit can’t buy. Princess’s military credit is non-refundable and can’t be used in the casino.
- Check whether perks stack. Disney’s resident and military rates can’t be combined with other offers, so compare each option.
- Value packages by real use. Two cocktails a day makes an open bar a bonus, not a saving.
- Points are a long game. Double points only matter if you’ll sail that line again.
